DMS Transfer Service
TRANSFLO® Transfer Service allows document images to be transferred either locally or via FTP and also printed, and provides event logging of the transfer and printing processes. The transfer service also allows documents to be transferred by a secure FTP connection. Once configured, TRANSFLO® Transfer Service runs as a Windows service, requiring User interaction only, to start or stop the service.
This article explains how to configure TRANSFLO® Transfer Service for use. If you need any assistance with starting or stopping the TRANSFLO® Transfer Service, see your System Administrator.
Traditionally, services in Microsoft® Windows® are controlled as an administrative task in the Services window. To make controlling TRANSFLO® Transfer Service simpler for all users, the Transfer Service installation includes the Transfer Service GUI (graphical user interface) mode. This interface allows you to start, Pause, Continue, and StopTransfer Service Windows application without having to access the Services window.
Observe the following best practices:
-
The Transfer Service GUI mode application does not control the Windows Transfer service and should not be run with the Windows Transfer service.
-
If you plan to use the GUI mode, make sure the Windows Transfer Service is not running.
-
Set the Windows Transfer service to start manually if you routinely use the GUI mode.
To open the TRANSFLO® Transfer Service GUI mode interface, follow these steps:
-
Double-click the shortcut on your desktop. Or, open a Windows command prompt and enter the following:
C:\Program Files\Pegasus TransTech\Transflo Transfer Service\Transflo.TransferService.Service.exe/gui
-
To create a shortcut to Transfer Service GUI mode interface:
-
Right-click the Transflo.Transfer- Service.Service.exe file, point to Send To, and select the Desktop (create shortcut) menu item.
-
Right click the Shortcut to Transflo.TransferService.Service.exe on your desktop and click the Properties menu item.
-
In the Properties window, on the Shortcut tab, replace the text in the Target field with the following path:
C:\Program Files\Pegasus TransTech\Transflo Transfer Service\Transflo.TransferSer- vice.Service.exe /gui.
-
Click OK to save your changes and close the Properties window.
-
-
Now you can double-click the shortcut on your desktop. The TRANSFLO® Transfer Service window appears.
To clear the log area of the TRANSFLO® Transfer Service window, click the Clear Log button. All log information is removed from the window.
A separate log file is generated and updated by TRANSFLO® Transfer Service for administrative monitoring purposes. Clicking the Clear Log button does not clear this log file. It only clears log information from the TRANSFLO® Transfer Service window.
