Chat 2-Way Messaging

The Two-Way Chat (2-Way Messaging) function in the Mobile+ app allows drivers and dispatchers to send and receive text-style messages back and forth. The Chat item type provides a way to insert this feature into the menu structure even though a Chat icon already appears as a standard feature in the mobile application. On a mobile device, this configured Chat item type can open a chat window on the screen to send two-way messages to a configured recipient.

This feature provides a quick view of the driver's unread message count. On the icon, a badge indicates the number of unread messages across all fleets. In the mobile app, clicking the dial opens the chat function. If the user is registered to a single fleet, it opens chat directly for that fleet. If the user is registered to multiple fleets, it opens chat to a fleet selection window for choosing the fleet for the chat function.
