Workflow Indexing with Batch Splitting
You can now split your documents with multiple pages into separate documents (similar to PDF split by Adobe Acrobat). Also, we now remember the page orientation while creating new documents.
You can design a workflow that allows you to split a batch of documents into the individual documents that were scanned. This works only for TIFF files.
While you work, you can assign properties to the newly created documents. After the first pass through the batch, you can use the splitting interface to do "re-indexing": moving pages, assigning new or corrected properties, and skipping or deleting pages you had previously assigned to new documents.
You cannot proceed with "process workflow" until all unindexed pages are addressed. If you need to find out more about where a page should be assigned, you can use Skip to assign it to a future unindexed batch.
Document Details (Child Records)
Child records are now considered first class citizens in Synergize Explorer UI application. The editing experience (on overlay) has been re-imagined and has been made more ergonomic for indexers.
Let’s assume a Trip Sheet is a main document. Trip Sheet might contain separate entries for each Proof of Delivery. Each Proof of Delivery could be considered a detail row or child record.
Integrated Email
You can now send documents as email attachments directly from the application.
One time (admin) setup in EMC is required.
Print via Email
You can print multiple documents via email if you have printers that support printing via email.
PaperCut and HP ePrint are popular tools that support printing email attachments.
Collection-Persistence
While workflow processing, we now pre-populate properties if different documents have same collection key. This is similar to the Google Chrome auto-fill feature.
Non-Workflow Indexing
For customers with no workflow license, they can edit main and children properties on overlay while viewing the full image. We have put more effort into making non-workflow indexing much smoother in this release.
Performance Improvements
We have refactored lot of code since previous releases which means improved perceived performance on UI and several underlying bug fixes.
Optimized Lookups
Cascading lookups with multiple result values had issues in previous releases. We have fixed almost all of the concerns related to lookups in 14.1.0 release.
Quick Link Launcher
There is a new module for Quick Link Integration. Now, we can hook up different TMS's to new HTML5 based product, instead of Java Client.
Additional Features
-
Add documents by just dragging and dropping on grid.
-
View Text Annotations, while workflow processing.
-
Set a key field for a repository in EMC. A key field is something that binds multiple documents together. For example, Trip No. could be a key field that associates Trip Sheet, Fuel Receipt, Scale Ticket, and other documents together.
Requirements and Compatibility

Version 14.1.1 of Explorer improves a few existing features in minor ways and adds more features too. Add text annotations, select multiple documents for download, select and sort your filter criteria, and take advantage of integrated printing.
Add and Remove Text Annotations
Now, in addition to viewing text annotations (or comments) on a document you can add them directly through the Explorer interface. You can also remove text annotations that you added -- but not those that others added.
Select Multiple Documents for Download (or Print)
In previous releases, you could use Ctrl-click or Shift-click to select more than one document on the main search results grid. You can now choose to download a zip file of all the documents in the selected set.
Integrated Printing
You can now select multiple documents and print them directly to your operating system printing function or send them to your local or network printer. Multiple documents are included one after the other in a single PDF file. You can also print to laser or inkjet printers.
Select and Sort Filter Properties
You could already set the order and visibility of columns for your search results. Now you can sort and set the visibility of filter properties as well.

With advanced batch indexing and splitting capabilities, more refined monetary field displays, and overall system stability enhancements, we're confident that this update significantly elevates the user experience for our clients.
Dive into the details below and discover what this latest update has to offer!
-
Batch splitting is a process designed to enhance the efficiency of document handling within a system. It involves dividing a large batch of documents into smaller, more manageable groups. This allows for more effective processing, as each document or group of documents can be indexed, processed, and tracked individually. By implementing batch splitting, the system can handle large volumes of data more efficiently, reducing processing times and improving overall workflow. Additionally, it aids in error detection and resolution, as issues can be identified and addressed on a smaller scale, rather than within the entire batch. This leads to increased accuracy and efficiency in document processing.
-
Updated the system for enhanced efficiency in receiving and processing data for document batches.
-
Implemented the ability to effectively parse and interpret data, enabling optimal indexing/splitting parameters for each document.
-
Streamlined initialization of batch indexing/splitting process, ensuring tailored processing for each document.
-
Improved tracking capabilities within the system, allowing real-time monitoring of document progress through indexing/splitting stages.
-
Added new feature for generating detailed reports, highlighting errors or exceptions encountered during processing, providing valuable insights for the document processing team.
-
Enhanced the visibility of documents loaded to Synergize via indexing and indexed through SPS, addressing previous visibility issues reported by LHF.
-
Fine-tuned the display of money fields to ensure consistency across all Synergize areas, displaying two decimal places uniformly.
-
Optimized licensing verification for users with Workflow licenses. With this update, the HTML5 version now seamlessly recognizes and validates user licenses, ensuring uninterrupted and efficient access. This advancement reflects a commitment to providing a more streamlined and user-friendly experience, particularly in license management and system accessibility.
-
Upgraded all micro-services for HTML5 to .NET 8; however, regression-testing revealed that .NET 6 remains the best required version for enhanced performance and stability.
-
Enhanced the HTML5 Explorer to show the count of documents approvable by the logged-in user.
-
A scrollbar has been newly included in the Tree View, enhancing user navigation and accessibility. This addition makes it easier to manage and navigate through large datasets or complex hierarchical structures.
-
Successfully resolved configuration-related issues in workflow mode, ensuring seamless operation even when specific forms are not set in the AP config.
-
Addressed and rectified the error occurring with the "batch split" toggle button in workflow mode, enhancing its reliability and functionality.
-
Refined the dropdown list in WF mode to maintain visibility and accessibility for users without a Cost Center, particularly when Approval is enabled in the AP config.
-
The workflow ensures seamless operation, particularly when cancelling transactions. This enhancement specifically ensures robust performance even in scenarios where the 'purchaseAmt' field exceeds three digits, providing a more reliable and error-free experience.
-
Improved the system's stability and functionality by resolving issues where Document Services Update impacted GL Lookups, ensuring smoother and more reliable operations.
-
Successfully addressed and resolved errors related to opening PDFs in a queue set to batch splitting mode in workflow mode, enhancing the system's efficiency and user experience.
-
Enhanced the GL coding tabs feature by rectifying issues with multiple lines, thereby ensuring its error-free functionality and improving overall user interaction with the system.
-
These enhancements significantly improve the functionality, user experience, and overall reliability of Synergize Explorer, bringing it a step closer to achieving complete parity with its Java version in terms of features and stability.
