Resolve Java JNLP MIME Synergize Server Web Viewer 404 Error: Webpage Cannot Be Found

Use this article to resolve the following error users might get when trying to use Synergize Web Viewer. This error can occur if Java JNLP was not added to IIS MIME types or the server name was not added to the JNLP file.

  1. Go to IIS manager and select Synergize under application pools.

  2. Select MIME Types.

  3. Add file extension jnlp with MIME and type:

    application/x-java-jnlp-file

  4. Open the following JNLP file in a text editor such as Notepad:

    C:\inetpub\wwwroot\synergize\imageviewer.jnlp

  5. Change to the valid http://server-name/synergize link for the client.

  6. Test in Synergize Web Explorer by going to Tools and register viewer to desktop.
