Resolve Synergize Desktop Error: An unhandled exception has occurred, User is not a valid deployment user

Use this article to resolve the following error that might occur when a user is forced by a strict password security policy to change their Windows account password and then cannot log in to Synergize Desktop.

An unhandled exception has occurred. User 'UC\user|user' is not a valid deployment user.

  1. Log in to the Synergize Server.

  2. Create a backup copy of the original XML file corresponding to Synergize Desktop.

    C:\Synergize\Server\Deployment Directories\RegisteredApp

  1. Launch Notepad as administrator.

  2. Change the AutoSignOn option from 1 to 0 in the XML file corresponding to Synergize Desktop.

    <AutoSignOn enabled="0">
