Synergize Viewer for Dynamics GP

The GP Viewer includes intuitive and easily accessible Print and E-mail options:

• The available Great Plains (GP) Viewer includes a new Print button. For example, when viewing an invoice, you can click Print to select a PDF, inkjet, or laser printer. Your device might also support wireless printers, fax transmissions, or other printing options.

• The GP Viewer also includes an Email button for sending your documents electronically.

• The GP Viewer solution is easy for administrators to configure and easy for users to learn. Additional documentation and sample screens are available below.

As an administrator, you can set up the integrated viewer interface:

1. On the server, install the new gpint.jnlp GP integration JNLP file in the following typical location:

   C:\inetpub\wwwroot\synergize

2. In the SynergizeApplet.ViewerMain arguments for the application-desc element, specify your transflo synergize server codebase URL.

   Example:

   http://my-org-doc-platform.myorg.com:80/Synergize/</argument>

   

3. On the server for your GP integration, open the following Great Plains Preferences application file:

   C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2016\Great Plains Preferences

   

4. Click Synergize Connection.

5. In the Synergize Web Client section, set the Web Client Root field to the path of your JNLP file (same path as you used in an earlier step above). Click Save.

   

6. Launch the Dynamics application, typically found in the following location:

   C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2016\Dynamics

    

7. In the File menu, choose Open Launch File.

   

8. Browse to your DYNAMICS settings file. The file type in Windows shows SET File or Launch Files (*.SET). Click Open.

   

9. On the Welcome to Microsoft Dynamics GP login screen, complete the following fields:

   • Server

   • Authentication

   • User ID

   • Password

   Click OK.

   

1. (Optional) Log into your instance of Microsoft Dynamics GP.

   

2. (Optional) Open a transaction entry screen and search for one or more matching documents.

   

3. As a business user, you might not have access to GP. Instead, you might only receive a link to view, print, and email invoices and other documents in the new GP QuickLaunch Viewer.

   • If you have access, enter your search parameters. For example, search on a Voucher Number to view a list of matching documents.

   • In the list of matching documents, select one to open in the viewer.

   

4. Your integrated GP document opens in the Synergize Quick Link viewer.

   

   • To print the document, click the Print button.

   • To send the document as a PDF attachment by e-mail, click the Email button.

     1. Enter the recipient email address, subject, and your optional message.

     2. Click the Send button.
