Transflo DMS Enterprise Server Requirements

In order to use the variety of services in Transflo DMS Enterprise, it is crucial to adhere to the following hardware, OS, and third-party specs. Navigate through each section for a comprehensive layout of the system requirements.

 

Supported Operating Systems

• Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022

• All server application users must be part of the Windows Administrators security group.

 

Supported Client Application Operating System

Microsoft Windows 10 or 11

All Client application users must be part of the Windows User Security Group.

Hard Disk Requirements

Hard Disk requirements for storage of one million documents:

• Storage for SQL Server Database: 50 GB HDD

• TRANSFLO® Server Storage: 80 GB HDD

Use this as a baseline for calculating the storage you will require in your environment.

Processor and Memory Requirements

Small/Medium Customer (processing under 50,000 documents per day)

• Processor: Minimum: 2.4 Ghz Dual Core

  Recommended 2.4 Ghz Quad Core or better

• Memory: Minimum: 4 GB RAM

  Recommended: 8 GB RAM or more

Large Customers Processing 50,000 or More Documents Per Day

• Processor: Minimum: 3.0 Ghz Quad Core

  Recommended 3.0 Ghz 6 - 8 Core or better

• Memory: Minimum: 8 GB RAM

  Recommended: 16 GB RAM or more

Memory Calculation Guidelines

• Each Gateway Process: Minimum: 150 MB RAM

• Rendition Print Service: Minimum: 256 MB RAM

  Recommended: 512 MB RAM

• TRANSFLO® Web Service: Minimum: 2 GB RAM

  Recommended: 3 GB RAM (for Small/Medium Customer) Recommended: 4 GB RAM (for Large Customer)

• ezView Web Site: Minimum: 1 GB RAM

  Recommended: 2 GB RAM (for Small/Medium Customer) Recommended: 4 GB RAM (for Large Customer)

  If you plan to put several services on the same server, sum the memory requirements of each and take the best recommended processor between them.

Example: Server Specification Calculation

Scenario: Small/Medium Customer (processing under 50,000 documents per day)

Plan to install the following on a single server:

• TRANSFLO® Server

• SQL Server

• 4 Gateway Services

• Rendition Print Service Processor selection: 2.4 Ghz Quad Core

This scenario requires a minimum of 8 GB of memory on the machine to allow for growth and for days of heavy load. In this case, we recommend that you set SQL Server to a fixed size of 2.0 GB, not unlimited. This will limit memory usage and prevent SQL Server from allocating all available memory.

• Memory Calculation: Operating System: 512 MB

• SQL Server: 2 GB

• Gateway Services: 600 MB (4 x 150 MB)

• Rendition Print Service: 256 MB

• TRANSFLO® Web Service: 2 GB

• Total: Approximately 5.5 GB

This information is based on averages and is intended to give an initial estimate that should work for most of the scenarios. The actual requirement could be different depending on the customer mode of operation.

Microsoft .NET Framework Installation

• If the appropriate versions of the .NET Framework are not already installed, the .NET Framework installers must be in the same folders as the TRANSFLO® Application installers for the TRANSFLO® Applications to install successfully.

• If you are installing the TRANSFLO® Applications on Windows Server 2016 or Windows 10, you might have to install the .NET Framework manually:

  1. Open the Server Manager component.

  2. Select Features and click the Add New Feature link.

  3. In the box that opens, select the required .NET Framework and install it.
