A: Transflo supports many workgroup, departmental, and high-volume production Fujitsu scanners. All have excellent paper handling, image quality, and onsite support. Before purchasing a new scanner, you can always check with Transflo Support to ensure that it is compatible. DMS leverages the very best OCR technology in the marketplace and supports scanners that are capable of meeting all scanning needs including single and batch scanning, simplex and duplex scanning of various sizes, thickness, length, and color, and even scanning at high speeds while handling large volumes. We recommend scanners that are PaperStream compatible to reduce document preparation time and improve the readability of scanned images.
A: Microsoft Edge has replaced Internet Explorer. A pending 2022 Q3 Transflo DMS update will remove legacy DMS IE 11 dependencies. Contact your Transflo account manager or our Sales and Support team to arrange an upgrade.
After June 15, 2022, Internet Explorer 11 users must transition to a more modern, secure web browser such as:
-
Microsoft Edge (with a temporary option to reload pages in Internet Explorer 11 mode to support legacy applications)
-
Mozilla Firefox
-
Google Chrome
As previously announced, Microsoft Edge with Internet Explorer mode offers built-in legacy browser support and officially replaced the Internet Explorer 11 desktop application, which was retired and no longer supported since June 15, 2022.
A: Some users might be running 4.9.4 but most users can continue to run 4.9.3.

Transflo 2012/2023 R2 4.9.3.x core feature documentation content is stable and accurate. Most features were finalized in the 4.7.x version in 2017 and enjoyed a remarkable period of stability and maturity for several years. We started developing new features and improvements with releases in 2019 (4.8.x) and 2020 (4.9.x). As of 2022 and into 2023, version 4.9.3 or 4.9.x is current for most apps. In general, where you see requirements or specifications for older third-party software such as Windows Server 2012, you can safely replace those references with newer specs such as Windows Server 2019 or 2022. However, we do not support BETA editions of third-party software or operating systems.

In August 2023, Release 4.9.4.x of DMS Enterprise expanded the scope of the Transflo DMS API to include Gauss repositories. The Transflo Gauss Repository API acts as a plug-in or auxiliary API to the standard Transflo Web API. If you consume this new feature, you will see a mix of 4.9.3 and 4.9.4 components. For example, your system will use Transflo GaussWebAPI 4.9.4.79 or newer but your Transflo Database version might still show 4.9.3.56293 or a newer 4.9.3.x version.
A: Experienced users can solve many issues themselves, but be careful! Our documentation cannot possibly include steps for customized configurations. The steps are often generic. Be advised that it is possible you might make a configuration change that prevents anyone, even our Support team, from recovering lost data. As a precaution, make frequent backups of your setup and config files. If you are unsure about any step, please contact Transflo Support for additional details.
