Configure DMS Batch Scan
TRANSFLO® Batch Scan is a high-volume enterprise software scanning solution. Batch Scan transfers TIFF and JPEG images and associated batch information to a central production environment for direct import or further indexing. Use Batch Scan for high-volume production scanning.
After you scan a set of documents, the system creates a batch In Transflo DMS, a batch is a collection of document images with associated metadata, often stored in a ZIP file that contains the TIFF images and the metadata in the form of an XML dataset. that users can view or modify (for example, pages can also be added or deleted). After the initial intake process is complete, the files are available inside Batch Scan for indexing, host validation, and transmission.

As an administrator, configure the TRANSFLO® Client configuration application to enable TRANSFLO® client applications to communicate with the TRANSFLO® Server. If you experience connection problems with TRANSFLO® Server, verify these settings.
To access the Transflo Client Configuration application and verify the settings, follow these steps:

Click the Windows Start button and choose Programs > TRANSFLO > Client Configuration. The TRANSFLO Client Configuration window appears.

In the Web Service URL field, the default address appears. To change this URL, type the address of the TRANSFLO® Web service being used for communications with the server.

To verify the connection is active, click Validate.

If your TRANSFLO® Server installation requires authentication, select the Authenticated Access check box and type the appropriate user name and password in the boxes provided.

If the local computer connects to the Internet via a proxy server, select the Use Proxy Server check box and type the proxy server address, connection port number, user name, and password in the boxes provided.

When you have finished entering or verifying connection information, click Apply.

Click the Logging tab. Enter or verify the logging settings that you want to use for TRANSFLO® applications:

Expand the Logging Level list and click the desired level of complexity for logged events.

In the Days to keep box, enter the number of days that events should remain in the log before being erased.

When you have finished configuring the logging settings for your TRANSFLO® client applications, click Apply to save your changes.

Click the Authentication tab.

To use TRANSFLO® authentication, check the Store TRANSFLO Authentication Information check box and enter a User Name and Password in the corresponding fields.

When you have finished configuring your TRANSFLO Client Configuration, click OK.
To access Transflo DMS Batch Scan administrative functions, you cannot start the application in the usual way. The preferred method of starting Batch Scan with its administrative options enabled is presented below:

In Windows Explorer, navigate to the Batch Scan installation folder. The default folder path is:
C:\Program Files\Pegasus TransTech\Batch Scan

In the Batch Scan installation folder, right-click the BatScan.exe file and choose Create Shortcut in the shortcut menu.

Right-click the Shortcut to BatScan.exe file and choose Properties in the shortcut menu.

In the Shortcut to BatScan.exe Properties window, click the Shortcut tab.

On the Shortcut tab, in the Target field, press the SPACEBAR to enter a space after the shortcut target and then enter /options.

Click OK.

Your Batch Scan shortcut is now ready to use to start Batch Scan with administrative options enabled.

In Windows Explorer, double-click the Batch Scan shortcut to start Batch Scan with the Options button enabled.
When troubleshooting, you can temporarily override the log level from the file system.

Navigate to the TRANSFLO® Client log folder. This is typically in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Pegasus TransTech\Transflo Client\Logs\Transflo.ClientConfig

Create a text file in the log folder and rename it to Log.Config.

Open the file with a text editor and add the following line to the file:
<Config LogLevel="[Level]" />
[Level] is an integer between 0 and 4 indicating the log level. The available log levels are:
0: No Logging
1: Errors Only
2: Errors and Warnings
3: Detailed
4: Trace
Example: To set the log level to Trace , enter the following line in the Log.Config file:
<Config LogLevel="4" />

Save and close the Log.Config file.

To disable this feature and revert to the previous log level, rename the Log.Config file to Log.Config.Old.
Back up your critical Batch Scan files on a regular basis. These files include initialization files and data files. Copy all files and folders in the Batch Scan installation folder to a safe location.
You should also back up the Windows registry settings for Batch Scan.
To do this, follow these steps:

Export the following registry sub-key to a REG file for safe keeping:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Pegasus TransTech\Transflo\4.9\ TRANSFLO® Batch Scan
