Transflo DMS Document Manager
The TRANSFLO® Document Manager is a wrapper for the connection to your image repository. Document Manager is used by Rendition Print Service, Image Power, Field Imaging, and Web Direct to connect to and then process queries (searches) in your image repository.
The Document Manager component includes a flexible configuration GUI that is available from any application that integrates the COM component. This article describes how to configure the Document Manager component within one of these applications.

Note: DMS features and configuration parameters have changed over the last few years. As of December 2024, administrators no longer connect Document Manager directly to Gauss or Magellan; instead, the system goes directly to the Transflo platform and Transflo handles the connection to Gauss. Other system types generally do not work unless you configure the Transflo Repository Bridge.
For example, you can no longer connect directly to Magellan. Any configured connection would break unless you:
-
Configure your Gauss repository in the Transflo admin site.
-
Set up the Repository Bridge. See Configure Transflo DMS Document Manager Repository Bridge.

1. An Image Repository must be installed on your network.
The supported repositories for TRANSFLO® are:
-
Gauss
-
Docubase (based on changes from 2020-2024, this legacy option is no longer supported)
2. Image repository client software must be installed on the box prior to the installation of Document Manager.

Document Manager is automatically installed when you install the Transflo DMS Rendition Print Service.
In previous releases, it was installed with Transflo DMS Image Power (superseded by Transflo DMS QuickView) and Transflo DMS Web Direct (superseded by Transflo DMS ezView).
Document Manager is a COM+ application. A COM+ application called “Document Manager” is created and configured in Windows® Component Services by the installer.
