Before you start your TRANSFLO® Workflow installations, ensure that the following prerequisites are met:
-
Install the TRANSFLO® Workflow Engine first and the TRANSFLO® Workflow Engine Add-on second.
-
The other Server components can be installed in any sequence thereafter.
-
The TRANSFLO® Workflow Engine, Engine Add-on, Workspace Web Site, and Workspace (Windows) must be installed on the same server.
-
Install and configure TRANSFLO® Server 2012 with the exception of the Workflow and Repository Configuration pages in the TRANSFLO® Administration Tool.
-
Enable Internet Information Service (IIS) 6.0 with ASP.Net on Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 x86 or Internet Information Service (IIS) 7.0 with ASP.Net on Windows Server 2008 x64.
-
The latest version of the TIBIPE folder must be in the root of your installation CD.
-
The TRANSFLO® Workflow Studio is usually installed on a Business Analyst or Process Developer’s PC or laptop computer.
-
It is recommended that you create users for iProcess and iProcess Web Services. This is covered below.
-
This document assumes the recommended naming conventions for users and processes will be followed.
-
If any of the server installations fail or need to be reinstalled, delete the database and any existing users and re-install all server components in the order described here.
-
See the Third Party Software Requirements section of the TRANSFLO® Hardware Specification System Administrator's Knowledge Base for .NET Framework requirements and installation instructions.
Ensure that the root of your installation CD contents are laid out as follows:
-
TIBIPE folder
-
TRANSFLO® Workflow Engine Add-on Setup.exe
-
TRANSFLO® Workflow Engine Setup.exe
-
TRANSFLO® Workflow Studio Setup.exe
-
TRANSFLO® Workflow Web Client Setup.exe
-
TRANSFLO® Workflow Workspace Setup.exe
Ensure that the TIBIPE folder contains:
-
TIB_ipESql_11.3.1_win_x86 folder
-
TIB_ipWkspWin_11.3.1_win_x86 folder
-
TIBCOBStudioInstall32.exe
You must create two users that belong to the administrators group with full control. These users must have their passwords set to never expire and these passwords must be set so they cannot be changed. One user is the iProcess Administrator (IPEADMIN) and the other user account communicates with iProcess Web Services (IPESERVICE). The recommended naming convention for these two users is:
-
iProcess Administrator user (IPEADMIN) = tfwadmin
-
iProcess Web Services user (IPESERVICE) = tfwfsvc
On Windows 2008, the user accounts are configured in the Server Manager under Configuration.
You will also need to set permissions for DCOM (COM+). If the Setting DCOM Permissions prerequisite is missed, you must uninstall all Workflow Server components, set the DCOM Permissions and reinstall the Workflow Server components.
To set the proper DCOM permissions do the following:
-
Log on to Windows as an administrator.
-
Click the Start button, and then select Run.
-
Enter dcomcnfg and click OK. This runs the DCOM Configuration Utility.
On Windows 2008 x64 you must run the dcomcnfg as Administrator. When the dcomcnfg.exe appears on the search screen, right-click and select Run as administrator.
-
From the Component Services icon, drill down to the My Computer icon.
-
Right click on My Computer, and then select Properties. The My Computer Properties window opens.
-
Set up Access Permissions. To do this:
-
Click the COM Security tab.
-
In the Access Permissions group box, click Edit Default, then click Add.
-
On the Select Users or Groups dialog, click the Locations button.
Note: On Windows 2008 x64 you will be prompted to enter a domain user name and password. On Windows 2003 if you are prompted for a domain user name and password click the Cancel button.
-
On the Locationsdialog, choose the appropriate computer or domain name where the iProcess Engine is installed, then click OK.
-
Click the Advanced button.
-
Click the Find Now button.
-
From the list of search results, select the tfwfadmin user, and then click OK.
-
From the Select Users or Groups dialog, click OK.
-
The tfwfadmin user will now appear in the list of users with access permissions. Click the tfwfadmin user and ensure the Allow check boxes are checked for all Local and Remote permissions.
-
Click OK to return to the MyComputerProperties dialog.
-
-
Set up Launch Permissions:
-
In the Launch and Activation Permissions group box, click Edit Default, then click Add.
-
Repeat the sub-steps in step 6 above.
-
-
Repeat steps 6 and 7 above for the tfwfsvcUser.
-
Click OK to return to the Component Services dialog.
-
Exit Component Services.
TRANSFLO® Workflow 2012 R3 uses a new version of the TIBCO iProcess Engine – version 11.3.0. This new version of the Workflow Engine provides the following new features:
Log files, with the timestamp in the file name, are now created every day to record the sw_warn, sw_error, swentobjsv, and swentobjsvUA messages separately.
For example: sw_warn20110831,sw_error20110831,swentobjsv20110831, and swentobjsvUA20110831.
Log messages were recorded in one single log file titled as sw_warn, sw_error, swentobjsv, and swentobjsvUA.
When errors occur frequently, log files can quickly become very large.
It was not easy to archive old log files which could lead to the loss of old log files.
iProcess Engine start up performance has been significantly improved due to the iProcess Objects Server start up performance improvements, as shown in the following two aspects:
-
iProcess Objects Server is started with WIS together, moving up in the start up order.
-
Higher speed to load users and groups.
You can choose to migrate only live cases from previous versions to a new version in one of the following ways:
-
Migrate only live cases for deployment from TIBCO Business Studio to TIBCO iProcess Engine by running the following command:
swadm set_attribute 1 RPC_TCP_LI 1 MIGRATE_LIVE_CASES 1
- Migrate only live cases from swutil by running the following command:
swutil PROC RELEASE procname version comment -m LIVE
Large trucking companies are constantly faced with the challenge of maintaining large amounts of data on their databases. This often requires databases to be migrated from one server to another.
To migrate your Enterprise Workflow Database:
-
Arrange for all users to log out of Workflow.
-
Make a full backup of the Workflow Database.
-
Import the Workflow Database into the new SQL Server.
-
Execute the following stored procedure:
EXEC sp_change_users_login 'Auto_Fix', 'tfwfowner', NULL, '<tfwfownerPwd>' EXEC sp_change_users_login 'Auto_Fix', 'tfwfuser', NULL, '<tfwfuserPwd>'
<tfwfownerPwd> is the password for the tfwfowner user.
<tfwfuserPwd> is the password for the tfwfuser user.
-
In the Global Security menu under SQL Server (not the database), go to the property window for tfwfowner and tfwfuser and change the password back to its original value.
-
On iProcess Engine server, open ODBC Data Source Administrator from Control Panel or Administrative Tools (if 64-bit it will be in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe).
-
On the System DNS tab:
-
Configure the TFLOWF item; it should be the name of the iProcess Node.
-
Change the database settings (server, dbname, etc…)
-
-
On TRANSFLO® Admin web site click the Workflow menu item and change any settings that point to the database.
