Clear Cache and Temporary Files on Mobile Devices

When you reset a password or change a feature, your app can sometimes hold on to data in temporary files (temp files), cookies, and other cached (temporarily stored) files. Every so often, as needed, clear your browser cache files.

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome Chrome or whatever browser you use. On an iOS device, open Safari or whatever browser app you use.

  2. On the right of the address bar, tap More or Settings, and then Delete browsing data. Or tap History, Delete Browsing Data.

  3. To delete browsing history (including open tabs), choose a duration and tap Delete data. The default duration is 15 minutes.

  4. To choose more specific types of data you want to delete, tap More options. Select the types of browsing data you want to delete and tap Delete data.

  5. If you delete cookies while signed in to Chrome, you won’t be signed out of your Google Account.
